Hate is Like Party Jollof

(Nigeria) When a bomb causes the death of his mother, Abdallah finds himself swept away from Kano into the life of his uncle, an Ibadan-based motorbike rider and armed robber. Things start off well and he is able to take care of his siblings back home, his mother’s dying charge. Until ethnic tensions, long-simmering, rise to the surface on a random afternoon. #PCVE #Counternarratives #Peacebuilding #Saleh #Arts #Literature

Honestly I am very impressed with this short film on every aspects. The story is very relatable because such issues have happened a number of times across the country. The story telling of perfect, the sequence of occurrence kept me engaged. The cinematography is rated a 10 out of 10. Infact I reduced my video resolution quality to 360 and it was still clear, impressive.

I would have preffered the term “American or European, or foreigner” against the term “white man” which was used by the storyteller at the beginning of the film.

    My honest opinion, Thanks.

I noticed a mistake. The thugs who set the maibarrow on fire were speaking english with a hausa accent, someone among them added β€œmana”, but this was not meant to be right? The maibarrow was a hausa man killed by yoruba thugs not his tribesmen.
